FS Cygnus

DP 2 - UT 755LC - 7,000 BHP Platform Supply Vessel

Built in 2014 at the Simek yard in Flekkefjord, Norway, the FS Cygnus is of UT 755LC design.

The FS Cygnus has a deck area of 710 m2, with a main propulsion of 2 x 3,500 bhp Rolls Royce Marine Diesel Engines utilising their latest C range of fuel efficient engines.  The fully automated alternating current system:  3 phase, 50-60 Hz floating frequency, 380-440 floating voltage for energy saving purpose on heavy motors/heavy users and 60 Hz for the general electrical system, according to DIN and/or IEC norms, allows the Masters to select the most efficient mode of operation.  This provides flexibility and control over fuel economy and operational requirements.  Having the option of operating a two speed propulsion system allows for optimum manoeuvrability when needed and at reduced speed a considerable reduction in fuel consumption.
